Want some free or inexpensive ways to raise your vibrations? If you’ve followed me for any time, you know that I believe humans are electromagnetic beings.
Our bodies are a complex network of charged particles.
Just like a radio antenna, we are constantly picking up and emitting electromagnetic waves.
This goes beyond just the physical world, though! We are also responding and resonating with the energetic frequencies of our environment. This includes the emotions we experience, to the people we interact with.
You might even think of humans as giant tuning forks.

What Does “Raise Your Vibrations” Mean?
Everything in the universe is vibrating at specific frequencies (this is not woo woo; even Scientific American agrees!).
Our internal state vibrates at a specific frequency. Depending on our thoughts, feelings, and actions, that frequency can be high or low, or somewhere in between.
How to “raise your vibration” or “vibe” means shifting your energy to a higher level. And this is usually associated with positivity, gratitude, and overall well-being. It may sound like an esoteric concept at first, but you can also feel it in your physical body.
By consciously cultivating a “higher vibe”, we can fine-tune our internal frequency and attract more beneficial experiences into our lives.
With that in mind, I wanted to share a few of my favourite free or inexpensive ways to raise your vibrations.
Free or Inexpensive Ways to Raise Your Vibrations
1. Spend Time in Nature
I’ve written often about the importance of connecting to nature. Sometimes this means sitting in stillness, and sometimes it means being more active. This could be a hike, swim, or swinging through the trees Tarzan-style (… although I’m afraid of heights so you won’t catch me doing this!).
Here are a few possible benefits of spending time in nature:
- Stress reduction: Nature provides a calming environment, reducing stress hormones and promoting relaxation. Time in nature has even been linked to reduced blood pressure and heart rate. These are two physiological markers often linked to stress.
- Better mood and mental health: Studies suggest that being outdoors improves mood and increases feelings of happiness. It can make it easier to focus and concentrate, and even reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
- Connection to something bigger: Immersing yourself in nature can foster a sense of connection to something larger than yourself.

2. Play with Flower Essences
Flower essences are, no surprise, one of my favourite ways to raise our vibration. Flower essences offer vibrational healing. After all, they contain frequencies that shift, rebalance, or upgrade our entire energy system.
Flower essences capture the energetic imprint (or frequency) of specific flowers. This essence is then diluted and preserved in water or alcohol.

When we ingest, inhale or use a flower essence topically, its frequency resonates with our energy field. This then stimulates positive shifts or improvements.
Remember that different flower essences target different emotional or mental states. For instance, Bach impatiens flower essence is used for impatience and frustration. On the other hand, Bach willow flower essence could help reduce bitterness and resentment.
If you want to try flower essences, choose one that suits your current emotional state. You can also consult a qualified practitioner to help you choose the best flower essences for your needs. You can find out about my flower essence services here.
3. Practice Meditation
Mindfulness and meditation are two terms often used interchangeably, but there are some key distinctions between the two.
Mindfulness is a mental state of being aware of the present moment without judgment. It’s about paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, and sensations in a curious and accepting way. You can be mindful while doing anything, from eating a meal to walking in nature.
Meditation, on the other hand, is a specific practice or exercise to develop mindfulness.
It goes a bit like this:
- Sit or lie down comfortably.
- Focus on something specific. This could be your breath or a spot on the wall.
- Let go of any distracting thoughts.
This is more of a tool to train your mind to be more mindful, focused, and present.
Even a 5-minute meditation practice can focus your mind and help you cultivate inner peace. If nothing else, it’s a relaxation break (or nap!) from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Here are two ways to raise your vibration:
- You can check out and download my mindfulness bingo here.
- Whether you are new to meditation, or have been meditating for decades, I recommend the phenomenal free app, Insight Timer. This app calls itself “the #1 app for guided meditations, music, talks and courses on various topics.” I adore it!

4. Try On Temporary Tattoos to Raise Your Vibrations
This might seem like a funny one. But temporary tattoos are another way I love to raise my vibe for a very low cost.
I buy packs of temporary tattoos with positive affirmations and/or symbols. I’m currently using these positive affirmation tattoos if you’re interested! This helps me solidify new positive beliefs and mantras in my subconscious mind.
The idea behind positive affirmations is that our thoughts and emotions have a measurable vibration or energy. Every time you look at one of these positive mantras or affirmations, you are reminded of your new belief or thought!
Positive affirmations can help us by:
- Challenge negative self-talk: Our inner critic can be loud. Positive affirmations help to combat negative thoughts by replacing them with empowering messages.
- Reprogram the subconscious mind: When we repeat positive statements, we help influence our subconscious mind. Over time, these positive messages become our default way of thinking. And bonus tip: try to embody the emotions behind these for maximum effect!
- Shift your focus: Affirmations direct your attention toward who you want to be or what you want to achieve. This shift in focus can elevate your mood and overall outlook. Focusing on positive thoughts can even lower our stress hormones and improve well-being.
5. Practice Gratitude
Expressing gratitude is a fast and effective way to raise our vibrations.
According to Dr. David Hawkins, author of “Power Versus Force”, gratitude is a high-frequency emotion. Dr. Hawkins created the Scales of Consciousness. This tool helps us understand human emotion and behaviour based on specific frequencies.
Gratitude can help us focus on the good things in our lives. We feel thankful for what we already have. This can shift our perspective, boost our mood, and connect us to the abundance we already have.
Luckily, there are many ways to incorporate gratitude into your life.
In particular, I love:
- Gratitude journalling: Write down a few things you’re grateful for each day.
- Mindful moments: Pause to appreciate something awe-inspiring, like a beautiful sunrise or a rushing waterfall.
- Practice random acts of kindness: Whether for a friend or a stranger, doing something nice for someone can boost your mood and feelings of connection.

6. Use Sound to Shift Your Energy
Have you ever noticed how your favourite song can instantly shift your mood? That’s the magic of sound, and it goes far beyond toe-tapping beats!
Sound therapy is one of the simplest (and most soothing) ways to raise your vibrations.
Sound is an effective way to shift your energy field. High-vibration sounds, such as Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, or even certain frequencies like 528 Hz (known as the “love frequency”), can recalibrate your energy in powerful ways.
If you’re feeling stuck, try playing binaural beats or solfeggio frequencies while you work, meditate, or even clean the house.
You might also explore sound baths. You lie down comfortably and a professional sound healer will play sound in, near or around your body. It feels like a concert for your mind, body and soul!
Don’t have a fancy crystal singing bowl or instruments at home? No worries. Humming, chanting, or even singing in the shower can work wonders to shift your energy. Trust me, I won’t judge your karaoke skills!

7. Breathe Better to Raise Your Vibrations
Breathwork is the ultimate hack for raising your vibrations. Breathing is free, you don’t need any special tools, and it’s wildly powerful. I once heard someone describe breathwork like the Swiss Army knife of energy tools. And I thought that was pretty spot-on!
Breathwork is more than just “in and out”. Of course, we all forget that sometimes! Especially when we’re tired or stressed. But breathwork is really about using your breath to move stuck energy and bring in more oxygen throughout the body.
When life feels overwhelming, a few intentional breaths can work like a reset button for your nervous system. So simple even my five-year-old is on board with it!
Try this simple practice next time you need a timeout. Sit quietly for a few minutes and practice box breathing. Inhale for a count of four, hold for four. Exhale for four, and hold again for four. Repeat a few times. Notice how your body softens and your mind clears. So simple.
For a bigger boost, look for breathwork events on Eventbrite or another live events platform. There are tons of opportunities, online and off, to work with a breathwork practitioner alone or in a group.
Breathwork can boost your oxygen levels and leave you feeling energized, empowered, and ready to conquer the world… or at least your inbox!
8. Experiment with Simple High-Vibe Lifestyle Tips
Want more ways to raise your vibrations?
Use these simple lifestyle practices in your day:
- Declutter: Messy environments = messy energy. A quick tidy-up can make room for fresh, high-vibe energy to flow. You wouldn’t believe how good it feels to finally clean up that junk drawer… I promise!
- Nature: Go barefoot in the grass. I prefer my backyard, but a beautiful park or beach is a great environment too. Grounding is a simple but powerful practice to raise your vibrations.
- Hydrate with intention: Water is a natural conductor of energy. Bless your water with a loving thought or affirmation before you drink it. You might also check out Source Energy Medicine. My favourite way to boost plain water. I’ve got so many friends and clients hooked on this: the water really does taste different. Do a taste test, I dare ya!
Remember, raising your vibrations doesn’t have to be complicated. The smallest shifts can create the biggest ripples.
Consistency is more important in the long run. Any small practice done regularly can make a big difference in how you feel.
So, which one will you try today?
Life is a plate… Eat up!
