Intuitive Questions That Can Change Your Life: How to Get the Most From Your Intuitive Reading

Intuitive questions blog post cover

Okay, you’ve booked your intuitive reading. You’ve blocked out the time, maybe tidied your space a little, definitely lit a candle (possibly two because you’re committed).

Your intuitive reading happens, something lands with that deep, full-body “ohhhh yes” feeling, and you leave feeling like your soul just got a really good massage.

And then…

Life happens.

The dog needs feeding. You have 71 unread emails. You make a cup of tea, stare out the window for a bit, and at some point that beautiful, life-changing insight slowly drifts off into the spiritual ether like the grocery list you forgot back at home.

Sound familiar? Yeah. I see this a lot. And of course, I’ve experienced it myself just as often 😉

After years of doing intuitive readings and spiritual coaching, there’s one thing I notice more than almost anything else: most people forget to ask the follow-up questions.

And those follow-up intuitive questions? They’re the ones that actually do something.

What Most People Ask in an Intuitive Reading (And Why It’s Just the Beginning)

Most people come into their intuitive readings asking really good questions. Sometimes these questions have been sitting on their heart for weeks, or even years.

But the questions people bring to an intuitive reading are usually about understanding. They want to know why something is happening, what’s underneath a pattern, what their guides or higher self are seeing that they can’t quite see themselves.

Why do I keep ending up in the same relationship dynamic?

What’s really going on with my health?

Why does my business feel like I’m pushing a boulder uphill with my eyes closed?

What on earth is my actual purpose?

These questions matter deeply, and the answers to them can unlock years of confusion in a single session. The insight that comes through can be genuinely profound. It can make you cry (the good kind), or laugh, or go very, very quiet.

(Side note: sometimes all these emotions happen in a single intuitive reading 😉!)

But those first questions are the opening act. They’re diagnostic. They tell you what’s going on. And that’s genuinely valuable.

What those questions don’t automatically tell you is what to do about it.

But you can think of this another way. Information opens a window. But transformation requires that you climb through it.

That’s where follow-up intuitive questions come in. And so many people skip them entirely, usually because:

  • a) they didn’t know they could ask;
  • b) they were so moved by the initial information or guidance that their brain temporarily went offline; or,
  • c) some part of them was like “this is a lot, maybe I’ll just sit with it for a bit and see what happens”.

(We’ll come back to option c. It’s more common than you might think.)

Your info is safe with me. I will guard it with my life and promise no spam, ever. I genuinely hate it as much as you do!

The Follow-Up Intuitive Questions That Make ALL the Difference

If you’ve ever walked away from an intuitive reading feeling seen and inspired… and then found yourself still doing the exact same thing 3 weeks later, this advice is for you.

The shift from insight to real change often happens through a second layer of intuitive questions. These are the questions that take the awareness you just received and turn it into something you can actually work with.

Here are some examples of intuitive questions I now encourage my clients to ask:

  • “What can I do about this?” Sounds almost too simple, right? But you’d be amazed how often people receive a powerful piece of clarity and then don’t ask the obvious next thing. Your guidance has specific, actionable support available, BUT it responds to what you ask. So ask!
  • “How can I heal or move through this?” Understanding a wound is not the same as healing it. (If only.) This question opens up a whole different level of support that often doesn’t emerge until you specifically invite it. Some of the most powerful moments I witness in sessions come from exactly this question.
  • “What solutions or support does my guidance team offer?” Here’s something important to know about how intuitive readings in the Akashic Records work: your guides, higher self, and the field itself are not passive. They’re not just sitting there watching you struggle like an unhelpful bystander. They have tailored, specific support available, but in the Records, guidance arrives in response to your questions. If you don’t ask, that support often stays tucked away, undelivered.

Think of it like calling tech support, saying, “my laptop is broken,” and then hanging up. You called! The help was there! But you didn’t quite ask for what you needed.

  • “What are my next aligned steps?” This is one of my absolute favourite intuitive reading questions because it does something really grounding. It takes that big awareness and transforms it into: okay, but what do I actually do on Tuesday? Practical. Embodied. Real.
  • “How can I integrate this into my daily life?” Your guidance can offer really specific suggestions, sometimes even surprisingly simple ones, that help the new awareness actually stick.
  • “What might help me shift or release this?” This question opens the door to energetic, emotional, and practical support for genuinely releasing something that’s been hanging around too long.
  • “What can I do to embody this new version of myself?” Okay, this is my personal favourite. This question bridges who you’ve been and who you’re becoming. You’ve already decided the shift is happening, and now you’re just asking for the map!

Why We Sometimes Stop at Information (No Judgment Here)

Sometimes, and I say this with complete love and zero judgment because I do it too, a part of us receives a big insight and quietly goes: “Hmm. That’s a lot. Maybe I’ll just… make a vision board and light another candle and see how I feel in a month.”

And honestly? That’s fine. Sometimes that’s what you need.

We all process things differently and at different speeds.

Some people want to take the insight home, sit with it privately, let it percolate. Some people want to walk out of a session with a clear action plan and a list of next steps (hi, fellow Capricorn moons… I see you, I am you!). Some people switch between both depending on the topic.

All of this works.

But there is a difference between integrating slowly and avoiding. There is a difference between needing time to metabolize something, and using “I’m still processing” as a reason to not actually do anything different.

Only you know which one you’re in. And your guidance team definitely knows, which is why they’re supporting us when you’re ready to ask. 😉

How the Akashic Records Work, And Why Your Questions Matter So Much

Here’s something that took me a while to fully appreciate, even though I’ve been doing this work for many years. The quality of your intuitive questions directly shapes the quality of the guidance you receive.

The Akashic Records are a responsive, intelligent field. They’re not just broadcasting everything at once like a firehose. What you ask determines what gets revealed. The depth of your curiosity quite literally influences the depth of what comes through.

Which means that you, yes YOU, right now, have wayyyyyyyy more influence over your own healing than you might realize. The moment you ask “okay, but HOW do I heal this?” instead of just “what is this?”, everything opens up a little wider.

In an intuitive reading, your questions are an act of intention. They say: I’m not just here to be told things. I’m here to actually change.

And when you follow up that insight with a question about what’s next (what’s available, what’s possible, what’s offered?), you add fuel to your own growth and healing.

How to Prepare GREAT Intuitive Reading Questions (So You Don’t Have ALL Your Breakthroughs After You Leave)

We’ve all done it. You finish a session, start driving, and approximately 7 minutes later, think of the perfect question. The one you really wanted to ask.

We’ve all been there. Our brains are doing a thousand things, and sometimes the most important questions are hiding just out of reach until the moment has passed.

Here’s how to make sure that doesn’t happen during your next intuitive reading:

  • Write your questions down before the intuitive reading. I know you think you’ll remember. You won’t. (This is not a personal failing; it’s just how brains work when they’re processing something emotionally significant.) Write them down. The act of writing also often surfaces deeper questions you didn’t know you had.
  • Bring more questions than you think you’ll need. Sessions have a rhythm, and sometimes one topic takes up more space than expected. A few backup questions means you’re never left going “ummm…” in the final 10 minutes.
  • Plan for the follow-up. Before your intuitive readings, for each topic you want to explore, write down a second question: “and if something big comes up here, I’ll also ask how to heal/navigate/move through it.” Just decide in advance that you’re going for it.
  • Stay curious in the moment. Prepared questions are great, but some of the best intuitive reading questions emerge inside the session itself, in response to what’s coming through. Trust that. Stay curious. Ask the thing you’re suddenly burning to ask.
  • Your questions don’t have to be perfectly worded. The Records are not judging your sentence structure, I promise! Bring your real, messy, heartfelt questions, and trust that the guidance will meet you there.

Your Curiosity Leads Your Intuitive Reading

I want you to remember that your questions are powerful.

In an intuitive reading, you are not a passive recipient of information. You are an active, sovereign participant in your own transformation.

So when the insight lands, don’t stop there.

Ask the next question.

Ask what’s possible. Ask how to heal. Ask for the next aligned step.

Ask how to embody what you’re becoming!

That’s when the real TRANSformation happens.
