The One Spiritual Practice That Will Reconnect You with Your Body Faster than Anything

Spirituality often gets associated with the mind, energy, and soul… and for good reason.

But what about the body?

I’ve noticed that many spiritual seekers are so focused on expanding their consciousness or developing their intuition that they forget one key element: the body.

Your physical self holds wisdom, too!

And ignoring your physical body can lead to health issues, often sooner than later.

Earthing, or grounding, is a powerful way to reconnect with your body, release stuck energy, and come back to your centre.

In this post, I’ll explain why earthing is important for spiritual growth, a few benefits of earthing, and how you can reconnect to your body with earthing.

Why Earthing Is Essential for Spiritual Growth

You’ve probably heard Pierre Teilhard de Chardin’s quote: “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

That about sums it up, right?

Every one of your spiritual experiences is experienced through your physical body. And to experience this energy safely and fully, you need to be well-grounded.

Grounding, or earthing, is the practice of reconnecting to the earth’s energy. It also aligns us with the Schumann resonance, often called the heartbeat of the Earth.

Earthing is not just important for your spiritual health; it’s important for your physical and emotional well-being, too.

If you’ve ever felt spacey after meditating or disconnected from your body after deep spiritual work, your body is waving a big red flag: You need to ground!

Some people need grounding more than others. Especially if you’re highly intuitive, psychic, or empathetic.

Without earthing spiritual practices can leave us feeling unbalanced, disconnected, and even unwell.

The Benefits of Earthing for Spiritual Purposes

Among other things, earthing helps you:

  • Feel more present in your daily life.
  • Improve your emotional stability.
  • Strengthen your intuitive abilities.
  • Receive and integrate spiritual guidance.

Signs You Need to Reconnect with Your Body

Feeling off? Disconnected?

Here are some signs it’s time for you to ground:

  • You’re constantly in your head. Racing thoughts? Analysis paralysis? Your mind is working overtime.
  • You feel overwhelmed. Your energy is scattered, and you struggle to focus.
  • Physical symptoms appear. Headaches, fatigue, dizziness, or digestive issues can all signal an energetic imbalance. (Of course, always check with your doctor if these symptoms are severe, they persist, or if you have other health challenges.)
  • You feel emotionally drained. Spiritual work should feel energizing. However, without regular grounding, it can often feel exhausting.

Earthing Spiritual Practices to Reconnect with Your Body

A few weeks ago, I shared my favourite grounding techniques for anxiety. Be sure to check those out!

I also encourage you to explore these original and unique ways to reconnect with your body (because trust me, my clients ask me for this ALL the time!).

Why You Should Reconnect with Your Body After Spiritual Practice

Earthing after spiritual work helps you:

  1. Regain balance and clarity.
  2. Recharge and replenish your energy.
  3. Release any energy you no longer need. I often recommend that clients discharge excess energy through their feet. The fastest way to do that is barefoot, outside, on the ground.

Grounding is the Secret to Deepening Your Spiritual Practice

By nurturing your relationship with your body, you create a stronger, more integrated spiritual foundation. And when you’re grounded, your intuition can skyrocket, and your spiritual experiences become even richer and more profound.

Stay grounded, friends!
