The Akashic Records have been referenced throughout history and across many cultures. However, they’ve recently gained a renewed interest as people search for deeper meaning and connection. This concept has been studied and debated by philosophers, scientists, and spiritual seekers alike.
As in any language, words evolve over time. The “Akash” or “Akasha”, derived from the Sanskrit language, is commonly defined as “ether” or space/sky. Originating in traditional Indian cosmology, this word seems to have been adopted in Western spiritual circles in the later part of the 19th century.
In this post, let’s explore some commonly asked questions about the Akashic Records so we can get to know this very practical tool better.
Q. What are the Akashic Records?
The Akashic Records are often described as an energetic database, or a cosmic or metaphysical library. Many believe the Akashic Records exist on a non-physical plane of existence, which we can access through a state of heightened consciousness.
The Akashic Records are said to contain a ‘log’ of all the knowledge, experiences, actions, thoughts and wisdom of every soul, from the beginning of time up to the present moment. It can also contain possible future moments if you believe in that!
Consider it the universe’s eternal pen pal, keeping track of everything from the Big Bang to the best recipes!
Q. What kind of information can I access through the Akashic Records?
Well… the sky is the limit (literally)!
The Akashic Records contain information about every soul and their experiences through time and space.
Most often, my clients come looking for insights into their current life challenges, finances, health, relationships, and career paths. This information can include life lessons, soul contracts, soul purpose, past lives, karmic patterns, and more.
We can use this guidance and wisdom for our Highest and Best good. We can also use it to grow and evolve on our spiritual journey.
Q. How can the information help me in my daily life?
We can understand and gain insights into our current life challenges and patterns through the Akashic Records. We can identify areas for growth as well as guidance to support us on our journey. When we apply and act on the information received from the Records, we can create a more fulfilling and purposeful life.
Self-awareness is key to evolving and developing your consciousness. Any piece of information could ultimately help or hinder our path based on whether we are ready to change and evolve… or not.
Q. Are they a form of fortune telling?
Haha, no, not really. The Akashic Records do not predict the future. Instead, they provide insight into the choices and opportunities that are available to us in the present moment.
Inside and outside of the Akashic Records, we ALWAYS have free will. It is always up to us whether we make choices or changes based on the information we receive.
The Records can help us understand the consequences of our possible choices and the potential outcomes, but it is ultimately up to us to decide which direction or path to take.
Q. What should I expect from an Akashic Records reading?
You may receive guidance on your purpose, career, relationships, health, and spiritual path. It all depends on the questions you ask! Remember to approach an Akashic Records reading with an open mind and heart.
I usually start my Akashic Records sessions by getting to know the client. After all, many of my Akashic clients are not people I’ve worked with before! After that, we do a short meditation to help ground us and ensure we can access the higher energies of the Akashic Records. We normally open the Akashic Records with a sacred prayer or passage. And then we have plenty of time for questions and answers 🙂
