I regularly work as a chef in-home and on-site for private events, parties and special gatherings, and I specialize in healthy yet full-of-flavour food. And I wholeheartedly believe in having your cake and eating it too!

My food philosophy is creative, thoughtful and thoroughly influenced by the seasons.

As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, I am trained to navigate all special diets from Paleo to raw to vegan, as well as food allergies and/or food intolerances. I am also an experienced recipe developer and I am skilled at creating gourmet dairy-free, gluten-free, grain-free, sugar-free, soy-free, egg-free, corn-free, etc. menus.

 

My services usually include:

  • Complete menu development for all courses
  • All food planning and shopping, unless otherwise specified
  • All food preparation before and during your event
  • All food cooking and plating during your event

 

I typically work independently or as part of a small team, but I am open to collaborating on a larger team for larger events.

I live in Orillia, Ontario, and I regularly work in Barrie, Ontario, throughout the Simcoe County region, and also often in the cottage country/Muskoka areas. I also adore and am open to travelling, especially for work and for the right project!

I never appreciated the profound relaxation and utter bliss of a hot bath as much as when I was pregnant (especially at 41 and a half weeks when I was aching and hadn't slept well in weeks!). I didn't take any baths when I was pregnant though; I was too nervous about raising my core temp and a lukewarm bath just didn't hold the same appeal.

One of my most favourite moments after giving birth in our home was my first postpartum bath, with babe in the tub with me, just to sit in and try to consolidate some of the experience of suddenly being responsible for this tiny, naked, wiggling, helpless person. And I also had a new appreciation for

Our midwives gave me a bouquet of dried herbs, all of which work on physical, emotional and even spiritual levels to help support postpartum mending and healing. . . So, I thought I'd share that experience by putting together some lovely, healing bath tea sachets for a pregnant friend packed with #calendula, #chamomile, #oatstraw, #redraspberryleaf, and some Dead Sea salts to help take that relaxation even further. You can customize your blend exactly as you like, even adding lavender or rose petals for a lovely scent if you have them. . . For maximum benefits, you can boil one or two sachets in a large pot of water for 45 mins to an hour before letting it cool slightly and then adding it to your bath water. You can also throw them into the bath as is, especially if you're short on time (and how many moms aren't!) . . This is such an easy and profoundly healing way to add a little extra self-care into your days at a time when we desperately need some. 💞 💞
